About me
Theresa Olsen is the Regional Social Emotional Learning Specialist for ROE #53 in Tazewell, Mason and Woodford Counties. She has 16 years of experience in education as a special education teacher and paraprofessional. Theresa is a certified trainer for the Neurosequential Model for Education (NME), Youth Mental Health First Aid, Restorative Practices, and 200 Hour YTT Yoga and Mindfulness. Theresa earned her undergraduate degree in History from Quincy University (many moons ago!). After working as a paraprofessional for 6 years, she earned her Masters in Education from University of Phoenix, and worked as a special education teacher for 9 years. This is her third year at the ROE in the SEL Specialist role. Theresa is passionate about supporting education professionals so they are better able to support their students.
