About me
Lisell Zuñiga, BSN, RN, PEL-CSN, is an accomplished leader in the school nurse community with over six years of experience. She oversees health services for 21 schools, advocating for student wellness across a variety of educational environments. Lisell partners with the local health department and VNA Health Care to manage successful school-based and school-linked health centers.
Her exceptional contributions to school health administration have earned her significant recognition, including the title of "School Nurse Administrator of the Year" and a spot on the "40 Under 40 Emerging Nurse Leaders" list.
In addition to her leadership accomplishments, Lisell co-authored the article "A School Nursing View" with Araceli Orozco, which was published in June 2023.
Lisell serves as the President Elect of the Illinois Association of School Nurses and will begin the ANA-Nurses Running For Elected Office Training Academy in January 2025.
As an Afro-Latina immigrant from Panama and a bilingual Spanish speaker, Lisell brings a unique perspective to her work, advocating for diversity and inclusivity in healthcare. She is committed to closing the gap between community health and academic achievement.
