Kate Mallory has dedicated over 20 years to the early childhood field, combining research and hands-on practice throughout west-central Illinois. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Education from Western Illinois University, with a focus on trauma-informed educational practices. Currently, Kate serves as the Director of Social-Emotional Learning and Support at the Regional Office of Education #26. In addition to her director role, Kate is a professional development consultant for the ROE26/33 PD Consortium, an SEL Coach with the Area 3 SEL Hub, and an adjunct instructor at Western Illinois University, where she teaches courses on social-emotional development in young children and parent involvement to early childhood education student teachers. Kate’s extensive experience in early childhood research and service delivery, coupled with her passion for supporting families from diverse backgrounds, drives her enthusiasm for providing SEL training and ongoing support. Her work emphasizes family engagement, cultural responsiveness, classroom culture, trauma-responsive educational practices, vicarious trauma, mindfulness, brain-based learning, restorative practices, and youth mental health first aid.
